The “Heritage.UA” initiative has found an investor for the Bibrka ceramic factory “Cooperative 36”. It was founded by artist and entrepreneur Semen Gupalo. The factory with a full production cycle has been successfully operating in Bibrka for three decades, providing work for over 40 people. It produced mass-produced household ceramics, which became a well-known local brand. Until recently, the factory’s products could be seen on the shelves of shops in Galicia. The enterprise ceased its activities just seven years ago…
As part of this initiative, the Bibrka City Council has already received an electric kiln for firing ceramics. It will be used in the pottery club “Gonchariki” of the House of Children and Youth Creativity of the Bibrka City Council, the initiator of the creation and head of which is Semen Gupalo. The city council notes: they are considering introducing pottery into a full-fledged educational process as part of the technology course. A room in the Bibrka Lyceum is already being prepared for this. The investor emphasizes that he sees this cooperation as very strategic: starting with extracurricular education – the format of clubs, then – “pottery for all” as part of the school curriculum, then – cooperation with specialized institutions in Lviv. Therefore, they expect that the children will return to the community, where in the future, on the basis of the ceramic manufactory “Cooperative 36”, they will professionally develop this tradition and craft.
You can support this initiative. We see how the cooperation of caring activists, investors and officials brings a good and unique result for the entire agglomeration. After all, pottery in Bibrka will become another attractive factor for, for example, the development of tourism in our areas.
