The Lviv Agglomeration has entered the active phase of preparation for a landmark event — the first Citizens’ Assembly dedicated to the sustainable management of water resources. Members of the working group, together with volunteers, have already begun preparing and mailing invitation letters, which will soon reach residents across the various municipalities of our agglomeration.
How the Selection Process Works
A total of 10,000 invitations will be distributed randomly among households within the member communities of the agglomeration. This is the first step in forming a representative group of 50 participants who will directly take part in the Citizens’ Assembly.
Important Information:
- If you find a letter in your mailbox: Up to two individuals from your household can register using the QR code provided in the invitation.
- Didn’t receive a letter? No problem! A public registration form is available on our official resources for all proactive residents who wish to apply.
About the Assembly
The theme of the Citizens’ Assembly is: “How can we preserve and sustainably use our water resources?” Over the course of three two-day sessions in June and July, the selected residents—assisted by independent experts and facilitators—will develop actionable recommendations for the authorities. In turn, the government commits to reviewing each recommendation.
Key Dates and Terms:
- Registration Deadline: May 10, 2026.
- Selection Process: 50 participants will be chosen via a stratified random draw (lottery) to ensure the Assembly is a true “voice of the community,” accounting for age, gender, education, and place of residence.
- Honorarium: Each participant will receive a payment of 3,000 UAH (for attending all three sessions), with financial support provided by the Council of Europe.
- Location: Central Lviv, in a venue equipped with a shelter and inclusive access.
